Dan: What are some of the reasons that you really like working with seniors?
Phillip: I feel like everyday when I go and meet with seniors and their families that they have this problem, this issue of needing to sell mom’s house and it’s a very emotional problem because a lot of time the family grew up there. The kids grew up there and they’re not just selling a house. They’re selling their memories and it’s very hard for people to do that. I think some people in this industry get a bad name for the way that they treat the house because it may be does have some deferred maintenance. I like to really talk about the positives and talk about the good points. I don’t gloss over the bad points. I just kind of say them matter of fact. This is what we’re up against. I always think to myself what if I was one of their brothers or sisters and this was my mom’s house.
What would be the way for them to get the most money? Because I’m transparent with my numbers I talk to them about that. I feel like even if they don’t sell me their house at least I’ve helped them maybe understand what they should do to get top dollar for it. In my business I help seniors and their families to sell their house. I make a good living doing it. I feel like I get to do a good deed and make a good living. I really enjoy my job. I think it’s a growing trend. More and more people are wanting the easy button and that’s where Fasterhouse comes in.
